The
mast is telescopic instrument platform on which are placed all the
instruments used to measure the vertical turbulent flows, has a maximum
quota of 9m with a maximum load of 10 kg, using a pneumatic system or a
manual pump that allows you to raise the different sections of the pole (5 sections) up to full extension. In
most campaigns so far has used the configuration that provides for the
presence of two poles, posts from each other at a distance varying
between 6m and 10m. The
top of each pile is placed a ring specially constructed to withstand
the horizontal bar, on which are attached media constructed to house
the various instruments. In
this configuration, the tools are mounted to the maximum quota, all
above the pole itself, to minimize the problems of distortion of the
flow due to the effect the tower. The
distortion of the flow in this case could only arise from the presence
of other instruments, inevitably placed side by side. It
also presents the distortion of the flow due to the supports (bar,
whiskers of support and protection boxes) and the distortion due
all'anemometro himself, who, in the case of the anemometers Gill
Instruments, is correct, in part, in phase calibration.
